Jessica Utley, MS, LPC-Associate, LCDC-I
Supervised by Dalia Dimerson, MA, LPC-S
I am passionate about producing lasting transformation and assisting individuals to achieve their goals. This is accomplished through offering compassion and kindness to individuals who find themselves struggling. I enjoy using humor, when needed, as it truly is the best medicine.
I encourage individuals to create healthy behaviors through positive thinking and goal setting. In so doing, I assist clients to alter their way of thinking to create a fulfilling and serene life. I believe our actions are dictated by our thoughts and, therefore, it is imperative to change our way of thinking to create lasting behavioral change.
Education and Licensing
LPC-Associate, means I have a master's degree in counseling and am licensed by the state of Texas. However, becoming fully licensed as a counselor requires supervision under a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor for 3000 post graduate hours before independent licensure is obtained.
I have been working with individuals in mental health settings for over five years and specialize in substance use, anxiety, and trauma.
I see individuals 18 years and older, couples, and families.
Christian or faith-based counseling available upon request.
I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach as well as Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused therapy. When working with me listen to you, I hear you, and I respond in ways that let you know you are heard and understood. My hope is to provide encouragement to you to dig deep to find the strength to overcome the difficulties you are experiencing in life.
Every individual has a different struggle, but struggle, nonetheless. I believe in this world we will have trouble, but God has overcome the world. It is my belief that, as counselors, we guide individuals to the healthy change they want for themselves. I do not have all the answers, but I hope to provide insight and walk with you on your journey to find answers and live a fulfilling life.
